Eight Gables Whitstable

Project Value: ~£1M

Current Workstage: Complete

Air Permeability Achieved: 2m3/m2/hr@50Pa

Eight Gables is a newly built house in a suburb of the coastal town of Whitstable, Kent. It is a contemporary, low energy, low carbon timber building.

We advised on the fabric thermal strategy including resolving airtightness strategy for the unusual tudor-inspired wall. This featured exposed glulam posts on the outside with a brick infill. internally a matching partially exposed timber frame had insulation infill.

The house is heated by an air source heat pump, vented by an MVHR and features a large PV array.
